Lanak & Hanna represented a general contractor in an action with the Division of Labor Standards & Enforcement (DLSE). The DLSE issued a Civil Wage and Penalty Assessment to the general contractor claiming unpaid wages, penalties and failure to submit the DAS 140 forms to all local programs and employing the appropriate apprentices. After several months of back and forth, L&H attorney Natasha Buchanan was able to favorably settle the matter on behalf of the contractor for less than 3% of the original assessment, saving the client over $60,000.
