Lanak & Hanna trial lawyers Michael Murray and Thomas Padian have prevailed again in trial, this time in a breach of contract lawsuit between two business partners. The client loaned money to a former employee to start his own business. The former employee failed to repay the loan. After Lanak & Hanna filed its lawsuit on behalf of its client, the former employee filed his own lawsuit and argued he had paid Lanak & Hanna’s client’s payroll and the client really owed him money. The defendant also argued that the money that client had given him was not a loan, but was really partial repayment of company payroll.
After a multi-day trial Mr. Murray and Mr. Padian prevailed on all aspects of both cases and obtained a sizeable judgment in favor of the client.
