Congratulations to Principal Attorney Natasha Buchanan for obtaining a complete recovery for her general contractor client and their subcontractors and suppliers. Lanak & Hanna’s general contractor client recorded a mechanics lien against a project when the tenant of the property stopped making payments and filed for bankruptcy protection. Ms. Buchanan made a demand on the owner of the property or risk a foreclosure lawsuit, which was ignored. Ms. Buchanan filed suit against the owner and after working with the tenant’s bankruptcy counsel, Ms. Buchanan negotiated for the client to being paid the full amount of its lien, along with each of the subcontractors and suppliers who filed liens, also recovered their lien amounts in full.
