Lanak & Hanna’s general contractor client received a six-figure demand from a former employee threatening a lawsuit for wage and hour violations. Lanak & Hanna and the client undertook an exhaustive review and analysis of the employee’s time records, payroll records, and daily construction logs to determine the exposure risk. The records revealed some exposure, as well as the employee’s own misconduct. As a result, the employee was forced to release his employment claims and settle at a value worth 6.4% of his initial demand.
