Results-Driven Advocacy, Backed by Trial Expertise
Mac W. Cabal is an Ivy League educated, highly experienced attorney focusing on construction law, business disputes, and commercial collections. For nearly two decades practicing law and handling hundreds of cases over the years, Mr. Cabal has successfully recovered tens of millions of dollars on behalf of contractors, suppliers, and other commercial enterprises as well as obtaining complete defense verdicts.
However, Mr. Cabal is not simply a litigator, he is an exceptionally experienced trial attorney. Having tried as many cases as he has, including jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations, Mr. Cabal has the skill, knowledge, and expertise necessary to navigate the rough waters of trial practice. Although many cases resolve before trial, if your case does not, you want someone with Mr. Cabal’s high level experience and knowledge of trial practice by your side.
Beyond his considerable trial practice, Mr. Cabal also brings a high degree of appellate level experience to the table with many published cases that have set precedent, even going as far as petitioning the California Supreme Court, three times.
Mr. Cabal’s legal expertise and background arises from a record of high academic achievement. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree and obtained a full tuition scholarship at Whittier Law School, where he finished in the top 5% of his class, graduating Magna Cum Laude. As early as college, Mr. Cabal’s oral advocacy skills were on display as he finished third in the annual Ivy League Mock Trial competition besting other Ivy League Schools including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Colombia, University of Pennsylvania, and Brown. While in law school, Mr. Cabal won multiple CALI awards for receiving the highest grade in his class. And during law school, Mr. Cabal wrote for the Whittier Law Review where he became a published author. In addition, he worked as a District Attorney Summer Extern, where he participated in, and won, an oral advocacy competition against approximately 40 other externs from numerous notable Southern California law schools.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Cabal worked as an executive for two of the largest retail companies in the country, where he managed a multi-million dollar denim business. As such, he understands what drives the goals of many of his clients. Indeed, what motivates Mr. Cabal as a lawyer is the desire to achieve results for his clients. Too often, lawyers get so wrapped up in the law they lose sight of the client’s overall goals.
Mr. Cabal taught law as an adjunct professor at Concordia University in Irvine. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, where he served as Co-Chair of the Mentor-on-Demand Committee alongside the former President of the Orange County Bar Association, and he previously served on the Board of Directors for the Bar Association.
Mr. Cabal has lived in the country of Panama for nearly ten years. As such, he is fluent in Spanish and has an inherent appreciation for other cultures, which he brings to bear in his law practice.
Mr. Cabal is the proud father of twins who keep him busy when he is not in the courtroom. Though he also finds time at his local CrossFit gym for daily workouts and enjoys playing the guitar, including performances at local venues.
